Information About Printer Ribbon

ID Card Ribbons Offer Low Cost, Millions of Colors
Thanks to innovations in the manufacturing of ribbons for ID Card Printers, anyone can produce professional identification cards with photo-quality images and brilliant color.

Whatever brand ID Card Printer you own, whether you are printing a dozen cards a week or thousands, ID Card Group has the right ribbon for you. With each manufacturer offering ribbons for their printer models alongside of excellent OEM ribbons offered by Sony for selected Zebra/Eltron, Datacard and Magicard Printers, business owners have plenty of choices.

Lowest Prices, Widest Selection
“We’ve got the lowest prices on the printer ribbons you need – from full color to a wide range of monochrome colors to choose from,” says Billy Kim, sales manager for ID Card Group. ID Card Group has ribbons for the following printer manufacturers: Zebra, Magicard, Fargo, Evolis, Data card, Polaroid as well as Sony OEM ribbons. “For owners of compatible models, Sony ribbons offer significant savings along with state-of-the-art engineering,” Kim says.

The Dye Sublimation Process
Using dye-sublimation technology, color ID Card ribbons are able to produce a full range of colors, resulting in art-quality photos and images. And what looks like alphabet soup in a print ribbon’s description is information about what kind of ribbon it is.

YMCK simply means “Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, and Black” – the four colors layered on top of each other to create full color. Two-sided ribbons may be described as YMCKOK, with the OK indicating a clear plastic overlay along with black for side two.  And while these sophisticated ribbons can reproduce virtually any printing effect, many businesses are turning to monochrome ribbons for even greater value.

Monochrome Printing = Big Savings
“Businesses with limited budgets will appreciate the fantastic value that monochrome ribbons represent,” Kim says. One example is the Zebra 800015-101 ribbon that prints an amazing 1000 cards in black for just over a penny each. Even more amazing is the comparable Sony Ribbon, which prints 1000 cards for just over half a penny.

ID Card Group has monochrome ribbons for the full range of ID Card Printer manufacturers, in virtually any color, including silver and gold, along with scratch-off panels for phone card pin numbers and similar applications.

“There’s no limit the color and design options that can be achieved using standard ribbons with your ID Card Printer,” Kim says. “Many of our customers choose monochrome ribbons to add a touch of color without the expense of a full color ribbon.”

When printing black, resin ribbons provide the ability to print super sharp and clean text and barcodes that dry quickly and resist fading and smudging. Full color dye sublimation ribbons are also specially formulated to dry quickly and last for years while reproducing millions colors. For even longer card life ID Card Group recommends choosing ID Card Ribbons with a clear plastic overlay, if they are available for your ID Card Printers.
